How to measure using fractions of an inch

Q: So... We're learning how to use fractions. Awesome!  How do you learn that?

A: I'm gonna teach you an easy way to learn how to use fractions.

Q: What do we need to start?

A:  All you need is a ruler, a pencil and some papers.

Q: Great!! So now what do we need to do?

A: The first thing you need to do is to draw a line in the middle of the paper, a circle on the left and an upside down U on the other side.

Q: Why we need to make a circle if we are trying to learn how to use fractions?

A: Because you are going to use the circle as a pizza so every time you cut the pizza you need to write the fraction.

Q: Ok...  I did the circle so what i need to do now?

A: First you need to cut the circle (Pizza) in four slices.  In the other side you need to make 4 lines and start from 0/4 to 4/4=1.

Q: So every time I cut the circle (Pizza) I need to count how many slices there are and then draw the same amount of slices but in lines?

A: YES!!! For example look at this picture, the circle is cut 4 times and it has 8 slices.  Then I drew the same amount of slices in the other side but in lines like a ruler.

Q: OK... Can you show me another example with more numbers?

A: Sure. This picture is with 16 slices. So now you know one of the easiest ways to learn how to measure using fractions for inch.
